Scottish Borders Schools, Scotland

Bilfinger Berger Project Investments is currently developing three new high schools in the Scottish Borders: Berwickshire, Earlston and Eyemouth. When complete, they will provide state-of-the art facilities for over 2,300 pupils. The contract will run for 30 years and includes all major maintenance and lifecycle replacements.

In a predominantly rural region, particular emphasis has been placed on the schools' environmental footprint, and a number of innovative measures have been included, such as bio mass boilers at each facility.

The design of each school building was developed in close consultation with community and school officials, with a view to giving each school its own special and unmistakable identity.
